VP Engineering/CTO- Collide

Who Is Collide & How Are They Changing the World?
Collide is a startup on a mission to eliminate collaboration chaos once and for all.
The global pandemic pushed enterprise organizations to figure out how to work together when we’re further apart. Companies sought to mimic office culture with a meeting-first culture, resulting in burnout, meeting-fatigue, isolation, and in many cases, poorer business outcomes. We can blame external forces, but there’s a part we can control: the way we work together.
Collide puts that control back in the hands of remote/hybrid teams with an easy-to-use team collaboration platform that enables teams to quickly share information, facilitate ideation, have threaded discussions, organize and vote on ideas, assign outcomes, and link with your third-party project management systems.
Formerly known as Powernoodle, a decision-facilitation software for enterprise organizations like Humana and the Bank of Canada, Collide is a newly branded startup under the ownership of existing shareholders and big names in the Toronto and Waterloo tech start-up and angel ecosystem and under the leadership of CEO, Nigel Vanderlinden. With a seasoned, powerhouse Board of Directors, strong early investment and a brand new product to fulfill a more horizontal solution in the collaboration market, they now have a minimum sellable product and are well on their way to becoming a high-growth Canadian success story.

How Will I Make An Impact?
Collide is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial VP Engineering or CTO who will report to the CEO and be his counterpart. While he owns the business side, you’ll own the technical side (engineering + product). Together with a small, strong and nimble team, you will help them iterate their way to product-market fit and beyond. You’ll add new features and remove barriers to adoption with the ultimate goal of acquiring new customers, adding to Collide’s existing base of customers. You’ll focus on product iteration in both a hands-on and strategic capacity, while also ensuring that Collide’s product and engineering functions are prepared to scale sustainably.
