What do they do?

First Acre Insurance™ is bringing the world of agriculture insurance into the 21st century! Founded in 2021, they’re launching their first product offering this Fall to modernize everything about the way agriculture insurance is offered, how land and equipment are surveyed & tracked and how sensors and data can be used (and those are just some examples!). For the first time in the industry, farmers will have access to customized & digitally supported insurance solutions that will give them holistic solutions, a more seamless experience, and less worry. If you’re a farmer, if you know a farmer, or know anything at all about the world of farming, you’ll understand how valuable this is!

Our partnership origin story

We were a part of First Acre Insurance’s origin story (which we love being able to say!). We were approached by the founding partners (two mutual insurance companies) in late 2020 with an ambitious and exciting ask. They were looking for a CEO for a brand new startup and standalone entity that would become First Acre. We placed an incredible CEO, Robin Shufelt, whose background in leadership, insurance and technology made her the perfect fit. She’s been leading the charge ever since, and we’re now partnering with Robin to grow her leadership team.

What we're working on

We’ve been partnering on a Head of Technology search to prepare First Acre Insurance™ for their product launch this fall. The priorities? A technical leader and collaborator to drive technical strategy and execution forward. This is a high-impact role at a critical time for this startup. Stay tuned for some good news soon as this search evolves!
