The Bridge Project

After a busy 2021, with multiple rounds of funding and a $4 billion valuation, ApplyBoard’s CEO says he’s now eyeing a potential IPO.


For the first time ever, representatives from the Toronto Stock Exchange travelled to Waterloo Region to remotely open the day’s trading at the Communitech Hub.


The unicorn password protection company 1Password is expanding into the cryptocurrency realm to do what it does best: security. The company plans to make crypto wallets more secure for users.


The Sweden-founded company has opened a product development and tech hub in Toronto, marking its first in North America. Klarna plans to bolster the tech hub by hiring more than 500 engineers by 2025, and opening offices in Vancouver and Québec.


Cybersecurity company eSentire Inc. has achieved unicorn status with a valuation of more than US$1 billion following a raise of US$325 million in new investment funding.


Goldman Sachs is selling Toronto fintech company, Financeit to Kuwait sovereign wealth fund for $350M plus. The sale comes after hope of combining forces with Goldman’s US bank “just didn’t come to pass”.


The Government of Canada has announced plans to invest a total of $240 million CAD to strengthen the country’s semiconductor and photonics design and production capabilities.


Thanks to the pandemic, Canadians working in sales, marketing, and product saw their salaries jump 38 percent in 2021, the second fastest-rising rate only after Mexico.
