How Will I Make An Impact?

​

We’re looking for an incredible Front-End Engineer Lead, who loves building and scaling teams, architecting, designing, and providing technical mentorship. You’ll make high impact decisions daily and shape the future of Relay. 

 

As part of our Features team, you’ll be contributing directly to our user-facing web and mobile apps, helping deliver new features that make a meaningful impact to our customers.

 

You will:

Grow and scale their frontend team, providing technical mentorship

Architect their solution + design work!

Develop and ship functionality that meaningfully improves our customers’ lives for both our mobile and web application

Provide input to product design and help optimize UX flows for our customers

Support availability and performance of production systems

Develop testing strategies to ensure product quality

Participate in agile project planning and estimation

Work with product management to plan features and estimate their complexity

Fix bugs as and when they come up

Support customer service if there’s a pressing issue

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

You:

• Have led frontend teams, either formally or informally

• Are an experienced front-end software engineer/developer

• Have experience with Javascript - we’re a Node.js, Typescript, React (web and native) shop

• Have working knowledge of AWS services (ECS, S3, RDS, Dynamo, Lambda) and continuous deployment pipelines using CircleCI. You will asked to own features end-to-end, and working knowledge of the backend systems is required

• Are perpetually curious and always learning - whether about the latest languages, frameworks, best practices or the tech industry in general

• Rise to a challenge and can handle change and uncertainty, at times

• Are a team-player - our team is small and mighty, and we collaborate constantly - we want someone who is always willing to pitch in and isn’t afraid to ask for help

• Are a self-starter, a problem-solver, and a creative thinker
