Since launching our flagship Generative AI product, we have blown past our revenue targets quarter over quarter, and are looking for a CMO to help us scale.
We are racing ahead with an exciting product development roadmap to continue to delight our customers and to ensure that our users can generate the very best possible tax research answers in the service of their clients in record time.

​How Will I Make An Impact?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and strategic Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to own Blue J’s marketing, starting with this major launch. As CMO, you will have two core responsibilities: building and nurturing both demand generation and brand. You will manage our marketing team, report directly into the CEO, and make important contributions to the overall culture as a member of the Blue J executive team.
Marketing Strategy:

You’ll own the annual marketing plan and strategy

You’ll work closely with our CRO, aligning the marketing strategy and roadmap with Blue J’s overall strategy
-
You’ll identify and plan strategies and materials that are differentiated, creative, and impactful
-
You’ll identify competitors, evaluate their strategies and positioning, and devise effective counter-strategies
-
Working with the Product team to collect, analyze, and interpret market research to keep up to date with our TAM and ICP.

You’ll lead data-driven decisions and establish effective frameworks, metrics, and strategies to inform Blue J’s approach to brand building and marketing strategies
Product and Demand Generation:

You’ll work collaboratively and cross functionally, contributing to Blue J’s growth using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, and advertising

You’ll lead and implement marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and drive leads
-
You’ll develop, orchestrate, and lead go-to-market strategies for product launches, feature releases, and adoption initiatives
Brand building and Awareness:

You’ll articulate an inspirational, exciting vision for Blue J’s brand, and execute on that vision

You'll craft compelling narratives by translating Blue J’s value proposition into a marketable solution that resonates with customers

You’ll define and maintain brand standards, and ensure consistency and compliance across all marketing and communications channels

You’ll make Blue J a memorable, stand-out brand
Leadership and Operations:

You’ll be a champion of Blue J’s values. You’ll embody them every day in your work, and amplify them as you lead your team

You’ll build, manage, and coach a high-performing marketing team, leading them towards a clearly defined vision

You’ll operate in the trenches with your team and execute together as a player/coach

You’ll add significant value to Blue J’s overall strategy and culture as a member of the executive team

Proactively you’ll keep on top of trends, and identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, and growth across all aspects of marketing

You have experience building as a VP Marketing / CMO at a B2B SaaS scale-up

You’ve led scale from $10-40M in revenue

You have experience driving demand gen in SMB and enterprise

You have experience driving marketing efforts in the US market

You’re fluent in revenue generation and brand awareness

You’re a data driven marketer and understand the value of analyzing data to make decisions and demonstrate impact

You’re both tactical and strategically minded. You can operate in the weeds, and also provide leadership at the executive level.

You have in depth knowledge of market research, ICP, and product-market fit

You’re energized by startup environments. You’re scrappy, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

You’re creative and you have strong communication and storytelling skills
