As the Founding Product Designer, you will have the opportunity to shape the user experience for one of the most technically ambitious startups and radically improve global computation. While you will start as an individual contributor, you will have the opportunity to grow and shape a team as Astrus expands. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing user interfaces, conducting user research, iterating on designs based on user feedback, and implementing the front end of the web app.

You have the opportunity to introduce modern design practices to the semiconductor design industry and create transformative user experiences. How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

​​

• You consider yourself a generalist who has a solid understanding of UX concepts as well as the ability to transform designs into modern, clean front-end code.

• You strive to establish and foster a user-centred design culture. 

• You’re excited to introduce design best practices to the semiconductor design industry and further push the boundaries for how circuit designers interact with their tooling.

• You strive to deeply understand users by conducting user research including; customer interviews, usability testing, product analytics analysis, etc.

• Creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that result in intuitive and engaging user experiences are second nature to you.

• You are comfortable collaborating with product, front-end development, web, and AI teams to ensure seamless integration of the user experience with the web app's backend functionality.

• You can write clean, efficient code using modern front-end frameworks (such as React, Svelte) to bring UX designs to life.

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

• You are aligned with Astrus’ core values and are excited about their mission

• You have a proven track record of designing and implementing user experiences for web applications, with a strong portfolio showcasing your UX expertise. (We’ll want to check that out!).

• You have a strong understanding of user-centred design principles and are passionate about creating products that are not only visually appealing but also valuable and user-friendly.

• You are able to line up, organize, and conduct user interviews and have the ability to extract important qualitative insights during meetings.

• You are equally competent with drawing quantitative insights, and you can pull insights from product analytics.

• You have experience building complex products in Figma and transferring those into front-end code.

• You possess excellent software development skills, with experience in modern front-end frameworks (such as React, Angular, or Vue) and writing clean, efficient code.

• Bonus points for full-stack knowledge!
