Altus Assessments is here to create a world served by exceptional professionals. Their products (Casper, Snapshot, and Duet) help higher education institutions to look beyond book smarts, seeing a clearer, more holistic view of applicants. It’s used by 360+ academic partners in Canada, US, Australia (and growing!) with 150,000+ applicants taking the test each year, and covers 90% of all US medical school applicants. They also host the Admissions Summit, an annual 2-day conference, and power the Alo Grant, an annual $100,000 research fund.

How Will I Make An Impact?
Altus is looking for an experienced VP of People who has a genuine interest in creating a world served by exceptional professionals. This is a leadership role overseeing all members and operations of the People and Culture team, driving our people strategy company-wide, and representing the needs of our people (both current and future) in leadership team discussions.
​
As the VP of People, you will be responsible for leading Altus’ people and talent strategy, setting a cultural tone that drives employee engagement and enables people to reach their full potential, establishing A+ talent and recruitment operations, building and enabling their diversity and inclusion philosophy programs and initiatives across the organization, and ultimately setting their people and culture up for success in this next phase of growth.

This is a full-time remote role reporting to the CEO, (and comfortable working from home for at least the next 4-12 months while we maintain our CV-19 precautions.)

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

You have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR and people leadership experience in a high-growth environment, with a CHRP designation strongly preferred
-
You have led the people function at a scale-up tech organization through a period of hyper-growth and enjoyed the evolving challenges and changes that came along with this journey. Not only did you enjoy it- but you successfully brought the organization along with you!

You have demonstrated passion for thoughtfully building holistically diverse and inclusive teams using a strategic, people-oriented mindset

You have strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations and practices in both Canada and in the USA

You have a very high EQ and you thrive in an organization made up of caring, curious and driven people

You have strong business acumen and know-how to contribute to strategic conversations and direction, at the leadership level

What's the Process?
​​
Altus Assessments is hyper-focused on delivering a positive candidate experience. The general hiring process looks like the following:​

Introduction Meeting with CEO: Video chat with Altus’ CEO, Rich, to learn more about the company's vision, strategic pillars and share your experience.

Remote Exec Team 1:1's: You will meet with other key members of Altus’ Exec team to learn more about the organization, opportunities/challenges ahead, culture and values.
-
Take-Home Task & Debrief: A short task assigned that closely mirrors some aspects of the role and ensures there is strategic alignment.

Reference Checks: Altus will ask for 2-3 professional references to chat about your time working together.

And of course, your Artemis Canada Partner, and Practice Leader(s), Leigh & Erin, will work closely with you throughout every step of the process to manage feedback & ensure a successful outcome.
