Maplesoft has provided innovative mathematics-based software solutions to educators, engineers, and researchers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for over 25 years. Their flagship product, Maple, combines the world’s most powerful mathematics engine with an interface that makes it easy to analyze, explore, visualize, and solve mathematical problems.

In 2018 Maplesoft will spin out its Online Education Products division to create a new company. The new corporation will be called ‘DigitalEd’. All Intellectual Property for Maplesoft Online Educational Products, as well as a substantial number of employees, will be transferred into the new entity. The newly formed DigitalEd company will have full responsibilities to develop and sell all of Maplesoft’s products which address the rapidly growing Online Education industry.

COO Role

We’re currently seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to manage all aspects of this new, well-funded, Maplesoft-sponsored spinoff company in a rapidly growing global market.

If developing and managing the worldwide strategy for SaaS technologies focused on online learning, blended learning and automated testing and assessment sounds like an exciting challenge, we’d like to talk to you.

You have the ability and drive to quickly understand the online education industry and competitor environment, existing and planned products, and the needs of the target customers and end users. In this role, you will participate in the development of a fact-based view of the company’s growth / investment opportunity and how to best capitalize upon it.

You will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for leading sales, business development, operations, product management and development departments.

As COO, you will closely manage and motivate several key direct reports and indirectly the teams who operate under them. You will motivate and manage critical customers and partner relationships to achieve ambitious growth plans. You will have full P&L responsibilities to achieve or exceed the financial plan.

Key Requirements:

  • • Previous success in a senior leadership position in a high-growth technology company.
  • • SaaS and /or other software development and software sales business experience.
  • • Clear and concise communication skills including strong executive level presentation abilities.
  • • Strength in presentation, communication, face-to-face selling, as well as strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • • Demonstrated success in building and leading cross-functional teams of individuals with diverse skill sets and backgrounds.
  • • A passion for technology demonstrated by your knowledge of current and emerging innovations and trends.
  • • Conceptual thinking, strategic planning, creative problem solving. Advanced university degree in a related field.
